Types of Bachelor: BA or BS?
Two options are possible: Bachelor of Arts (BA) and the Bachelor of Science (BS)🇧🇷 The BA is more general and students have the opportunity to explore a variety of subjects such as science, social science, business and languages.
BS is more specialized in technical and scientific subjects such as computer science, physics and mathematics. O students must choose disciplines directly related to their course, that is, to the chosen field.
The biggest, the smallest – what is it?
BS or BA, the student chooses an “area of study” according to what interests him, called graduate (which could be economics, communication, political science…). Concretely, he must take courses related to this course and validate them to obtain credits and graduated.
The smallest: study what you want
The student can also choose a smaller, a specialization in another area, which may be close to or different from your specialization. He will then have to take a certain number of courses to validate this minor.
For example, for the Bachelor of Artsa student who wants to pursue a career in science but is passionate about languages can choose a major in biology and a major in spanish.
And when there’s more, there’s more
For the hardest-working,american university offers the possibility of a double major. The student can choose two specializations and will therefore obtain two degrees after his four years.
Compulsory subjects: the basic curriculum
In addition to courses related to majors, the student must take general and mandatory courses each semester that allow the student to develop their skills outside the course, such as a course in writing, oral expression, language, sports … This is the resume.
Credits – what are they?
Train up and participate in the famous toss of the Mortar (the hat) Upon graduation, you must have accumulated a certain number of credits, which are the unit of measurement at universities.
Concretely, the student must validate the courses of his graduate, and core curriculum. If he fails and gets an F in a course, he will not receive any credit that prevents him from graduating on time.

Last Year: Last Effort…
The final year consists of consolidating your achievements and catching up or missing credits in subjects where you didn’t shine as expected.
College, university… same degree, but what’s the difference?
The difference is based on campus size. ONE university hosts tens of thousands of students, while one elementary School is limited to a few thousand.
The number of courses and degrees offered are more limited at the college, while universities they are usually subdivided into departments (business school, communication school, etc.).
At university, students are independent. Count up to 200 students per class. Inside elementary School, the classes are smaller (maximum of 30 students) the students are monitored more closely by the teachers.
Universities generally have more resources than colleges. the issports facilities and the university roomsthey “sleeps”, are therefore often of better quality than in the faculties.
