Huawei Technologies Morocco organizes, in partnership with Al Akhawayn University and the Chinese Cultural Center in Rabat, China Day, which revolves around various activities and animations.
On the sidelines of this day, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Al Akhawayn University and Huawei Technologies Morocco in the presence of Dr. Amine Bensaid, President of Al Akhawayn University, His Excellency Mr. Changlin Li, Chinese Ambassador to Morocco, by Ms. Chen Dongyun, Cultural Advisor at the Chinese Embassy in Morocco and Director of the Chinese Cultural Center in Rabat and Mr. Faustin Xu, Deputy General Manager of Huawei Technologies Morocco.
The event, which took place at the premises of Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane, was divided into several shows and workshops (Lion Dance, Dragon Dance, Chinese classes, etc.). On the sidelines of this unprecedented meeting, Chinese calligraphy and drawing workshops were also organized. They were led by a trainer sent especially for the occasion by the Chinese Cultural Center in Rabat, Morocco.

China Day was marked by the signing of an MoU, between Huawei Technologies and Al Akhawayn University, which emphasizes the development of training and certification programs, open to students, professors and administrative executives. It also supports students’ participation in Huawei’s international competitions, which are directly related to the latest digital technologies. Several seminars and workshops for the exchange of knowledge and experiences are also planned following this agreement.
In his speech on this occasion, Mr. Faustin Xu, Deputy General Manager of Huawei Morocco, said: “We welcome the holding of this China Day in Morocco. At Huawei Technologies Morocco, we find it very important to constantly work to build bridges between cultures; That’s why today we have the immense pleasure of contributing, through this event, for young Moroccan students to discover all the richness of Chinese culture. In addition, our strategic partnership with Al Akhawayn University demonstrates our long-term commitment to promoting education and employment in Morocco..”
For his part, Dr. Amine Bensaid, President of Al Akhawayn University, said: “We welcome the scope of the agreement we have just signed with Huawei Technologies Morocco, which will lay the foundations for an innovative public-private partnership aimed at strengthening students’ skills in the technological and digital domains and ultimately facilitating the their access to the labor market“.
This fruitful partnership, born of the convergence of the partners’ visions, highlights the importance of developing ICT skills, encouraging excellence in the quality education service in Morocco and the consolidation, in fine , of the public-private partnership, considered as a real lever for promoting education and employment.
