The Epsrc PhD Scholarship Fully Funded for International Students 2022-2023 is open to international students. The scholarship allows for doctoral programs in the field of Biomedical Engineering taught at Swansea University.

Scholarship benefits:

This scholarship covers the full cost of UK tuition fees and an annual stipend of £15,609.

Eligibility Criteria:

Typically, applicants must hold a level 2.1 undergraduate degree (or equivalent outside the UK as defined by Swansea University) in engineering or a similar relevant scientific discipline. English language requirements: the where applicable – global IELTS 6.5 (with at least 5.5 in each individual component) or equivalent recognized by Swansea. Details of Swansea University’s English language entry policy can be found here .

Due to funding restrictions, this scholarship is open to eligible applicants to pay tuition fees at the UK rate only as defined by UKCISA regulations .

To apply, please complete your application online with the following information:

  2. Start year – select 2022;

  3. Financing (page 8)

  • “Do you finance your studies alone? – select No;

  • ‘Name of person or organization providing funding for the study’ – enter ‘RS81 – AI Development’

* It is the applicant’s responsibility to accurately list the above information when applying. Please note that applications received without the above information will not be considered for the award of the scholarship.

An application is required for an Individual Scholarship administered by the University of Swansea; applications cannot be considered to list various research grants administered by the University of Swansea.

  • RESUME ;

  • Graduation certificates and transcripts (if you are currently studying for a degree, screenshots of your grades so far are sufficient);

  • A cover letter including an “additional personal statement” explaining why the position particularly matches your skills and experience and how you choose to develop the project;

  • Two references (academics or previous employer) on letterhead or using the Swansea University Reference Form . Please note that we cannot accept incoming referrals citing private email accounts, eg Hotmail. Referees must cite their employment email address for reference verification;

  • Proof of compliance with English language requirements (if applicable);

  • Copy of UK resident visa (if applicable).
