Appointment – Session Discussion board 2022-2025

QUEBEC, June 16, 2022 /CNW Telbec/ – The Commissioner of Health and Welfare (CSBE) announces the appointment of members who will constitute its Consultation Forum for the next three years. Sir. Mateus Menearassistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine and regular researcher at the University’s VITAM Sustainable Health Research Center lava, Dr. Elizabeth Parenteaufamily doctor of the Family Medicine Group of the Integrated Center for Health and Social Assistance of Capitale-Nationale, Sir. Daniel LaRochedirector of quality, evaluation, ethics and institutional affairs at the CHU de Québec-Université lava, Mrs. Geneviève Plamondon, scientific professional at the Cabinet – Methodologies and Ethics at the National Institute for Excellence in Health and Social Services and Sir. Father Gilles, resident of the Capitale-Nationale regionwere selected to participate in this unique deliberative exercise in Quebec.

The Consultation Forum will be composed of 24 people, including 15 citizens from different regions of Quebec and 9 experts in areas related to health and well-being. Its mandate is to provide the Commissioner with his views on various issues that affect the health and social services system and the health and well-being of the population.

Highlights:

  • CSBE received 199 applications from citizens and 37 applications from experts.
  • The individuals were chosen following the selection process foreseen in the Regulation on the procedure for selecting qualified persons to compose the Consultation Forum :
    • Citizen applications: An external company, the Institut du Nouveau Monde (INM), was mandated to receive requests from citizens. She evaluated them to propose at least three candidates per region to the commissioner.
    • Specialist candidates: The organizations and universities approached by the commissioner sent her a list of candidates.

  • Forum members will meet three to five times a year for sessions lasting up to two days. The first session of the Forum will be held in October 2022.
  • Mr Menear holds a doctorate in public health, as well as a master’s degree in community health. He has also completed specialized research training in the areas of mental health, primary care and knowledge translation. His current research is geared towards optimizing care pathways and improving patient engagement in their care and the health system. Heavily involved in the university community, he is co-director of the University’s Frontline Practice Research Network. lavaa network that supports the creation and mobilization of knowledge in this field.
  • Dr. Parenteau has a rich history of life experiences and medical experiences with diverse clientele. He holds a doctorate in medicine from the University lava and completed his specialty in family medicine in Gaspé. She has practiced medicine with vulnerable populations, in particular with refugees and asylum seekers in Mauritie-Centre-du-Québec as well as in Capitale-Nationale. She also worked in family medicine groups in these regions.
  • With more than 40 years of experience in the area of ​​health and social services, Mr. La Roche has a deep knowledge of the network and its management. After his master’s degree in public administration, he began doctoral studies with the aim of comparing the organizational models of mental health services in Tuscany and Quebec. She then worked as a manager or assistant in various organizations in the network, in particular for the Regional Council of Health and Social Services of Quebec. He won the Marielle-Lavallée Award from the Association of Senior Executives in Health and Social Services, which recognizes professional achievement, perseverance, and leadership in health and social services.
  • Graduated with a master’s degree in health services assessment and administration and a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy, Mrs. Plamondon notably, it carries out work on methodological development and strategic positioning in health and social services. She is also a professor at the University of Sherbrooke in a postgraduate micro-program whose content aims, in particular, to integrate the perspective of patients with a view to improving rehabilitation practices. Previously, she worked as a physical therapist at the Center de santé et des services sociaux de la Montagne in Montreal, in a program for people with age-related loss of autonomy and physical disability.
  • now retired, Sir. Father Gilles worked for more than 20 years for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, first as a labor relations negotiator and later in a human resources management position. Graduated with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in industrial relations from the University of Montreal, he has also been a professor in this program of study for much of his career. Until very recently, he was hired as president of the Association du twinning between neuville from Quebec, where he has lived for 15 years, and from neuville-de-Poitou in Francewhose mission is to promote cultural, social and tourist exchanges between France and Quebec.
